The Video Gallery

For those of you in the know, I'm a filmmaker at heart (I also studied for it), but my skills have lain dormant for the last few years, and I think it's time I started creating more content that uses those skills. So, you'll find below the varied videos I've made for YouTube, particularly for Feather's Charm. From travel and lifestyle videos to Sims 4 and gaming,  you'll find all my YouTube videos here. Enjoy!

Stitch Something | Behind The Stitch | Half Double Crochet

Hey guys! It's been a while since I uploaded one of these. I know I promised this earlier, but a lot has happened since my last Behind The Stitch video, it was hard to keep up, and the bullet journal videos were the ones that took priority earlier. Now, I'm taking a small hiatus from those videos, which I will start up again in 2025, but that left a lot of room for me to finish creating this one. Not only that, but at my current workplace, I'm running crochet workshops! How crazy is that! So, you might expect more from me, here on this playlist. But, back to the video. What will I show you today? I'm going to show you how to create the Half Double Crochet (HDC), which is used in a lot of patterns, especially ones like making flower petals. It's essentially a transitional crochet stitch, and not really one of the main ones, unless a designer decides to work in Half Double Crochets exclusively, but that's an argument for another time. I'll also show you what a turning chain is, and why it's important. Remember, it depends on the type of stitch you're doing, how many chains you need to make, for your turning chain, and it depends on the designer whether two chains are enough for a Double Crochet, or three chains are. Of course, I will eventually explain all of this in more detail, on my website, once I have time to finally sit down and write a blog post, but with some of my other projects, at the moment, it's a little difficult to do, so just keep an eye out, and you'll eventually find something pop up. Well, that's it from me today. I'll see you in the next tutorial, where I'll teach you how to create a double crochet (finally!)! And don't forget to like, subscribe, comment, share and follow me, here on YouTube, on my social media channels and on my website! And as always, be kind, be creative, and be unique! I'll see you later! Journal With Me | My Bullet Journal Journey | April

Hey guys! Apologies this one is so late, I've just been feeling rather unmotivated lately, because of all the things happening at work (it's still not calm yet), and a few developments have happened there that are also about to take up even more of my time, so it's going to be a while before I can finally focus on Feather's Charm again, but nevertheless, I still make videos, and will still make them for you all. This month's spread is emulating the ones that I'd created for September, October and November, so you get the scrapbook look, washi tape and stickers and the doodles! So, this time round, I created a floral theme spread, since it's now well and truly springtime. As with all my other spreads, this theme has a colour palette, and this one is a pink one. Not to be confused with February pink, April pink is a sort of darkish pink, a more reddish pink, since it's the month of Aries (yes, I am a zodiac kind of girl). So, the red colour is usually prominent in my April spreads. However, for me, it has a slight pink tint, than full on red. So, that's why I've also included the lighter pink shades. It's perfect to offset the darker pink. Not only that, but you also have the mint greens and browns mixed into it, and I honestly love the palette. It's perfect for April! I really do love this spread, it reminds me of some of the junk journal spreads I'd attempted last year, you know the ones I created for my shorts. If you haven't checked those out yet, I highly recommend you do. Anyway, what do you guys think of this spread, and what do you associate April with, in terms of colour? Let me know! And let me know what you think of the spread itself? Leave your feedback and comments in the comment section below! Journal With Me | My Bullet Journal Journey | March

Hey guys! I'm back with a new video. This one's for March! I know it's been more than a week, since March began, but a lot has gone on at work, and I have just been so tired, since both January and February have been full on and full of activity. I won't lie, it's been hard, but thankfully, things are getting better, and I will be able to focus on my projects, including Feather's Charm. For now, let's dive in to the March spread. I really love this one, it's much more artistic than my previous spreads. I know it's all been thematic doodles and abstract forms, but with this, I feel like I can be a bit more artsy about my bullet journal. I'm not saying it'll continue into my next one, but it is a possibility. Anyway, for me, March has always been a peach month, and what better way to start the Spring season with flowers? I decided, instead of trying to incorporate the rose, I would make the theme for the month the rose itself! So, here we are! I love how cohesive this month's theme is, it's just so romantic, so abstract and artsy that I might do something similar for April, and it's all thanks to the water pen that comes along with the real brush pens by Arteza, which I use again this month. I really do love this spread, and it really embodies the Spring season. I'm glad I decided to create it for this month. Anyway, that's enough from me, I'll let you watch the video, but once you're done, please do let me know what you think of it. Do you like it? do you hate it? Do you have any other ideas I could use for next year? Leave your tips, comments and feedback in the comments section below, and I'll see what I can do. Journal With Me | My Bullet Journal Journey | February

Hey guys! It's that time of the year again, where couples declare their love for each other, propose marriage, or when singles pamper themselves for that one day. Valentines Day! At first, I wanted to do a Valentines theme, for February, but I decided I wanted to step away from that this year, because I just didn't like the way the love hearts and the whole theme looked...it's just too pink and red. So, I decided to go for something a little different, as you'll notice already. It's not quite what I had in mind, but it works, and I do like it, since it goes well with the Art Deco theme that I wanted to carry through into this month. It's a bit circus, but not quite (I might actually do that for April, who knows!), and I actually like it. It's a very spring circus vibe, and I think it goes well with the shapes that I eventually incorporate into the spread. What do you think? Oh, and if you haven't noticed, I finally used the watercolour aspect of the real brush pens! Yes, these pens are also watercolour pens, and I absolutely loved the new dimension it added to the spread. I should have used it for the rose, but I didn't want to smudge the black pen (since it easily spreads with other types of pens), so I just used my handy-dandy Staedtler pens. Maybe next time, I'll use the watercolour aspect of the pens, for the rose as well. Regardless, I am proud of this spread, because it's another step up into my artistic skills, which I am slowly building with this bullet journal. Anyway, that's enough from me, I'll let you watch the video, but once you're done, please do let me know what you think of it. Do you like it? do you hate it? Do you have any other ideas I could use for next year? Leave your tips, comments and feedback in the comments section below, and I'll see what I can do. Journal With Me | My Bullet Journal Journey | January

Hey guys! Happy New Year! I know I'm a little late to the party, but it's because I've been having a party that this video is late. I hope I haven't made you guys too mad. If so, I'm sorry, if not, well...let's get on with it. So, as you can tell, in this episode, I'm making up the spreads for January, and I absolutely love it! I went with this whole Art Deco kind of vibe...I mean...we're in the 20s of the 21st century, so it make sense...kinda. But seriously, I absolutely love the Art Deco vibe, it's just screams luxury, Classic Hollywood, and all things glitz and glam. If you don't know me, I'm that type of girl, who daydreams about being a billionaire with a maze of a house that has secret rooms, hidden cinema rooms and quiet book nooks. I'm all about the dressing up and high lifestyle...although there are times when I'm about the cosy, warm blanket lifestyle. Anyway, I'm really proud of this spread, not just because of its aesthetic, but because I also attempted a Dutch Door page, for my 2024 marker. If you don't know what a Dutch Door is, it's basically a page that's cut in half, or maybe a little less, to act like a marker. So, for my 2024 cover, I decided to create this Dutch Door to separate the next 6 months, from 2023. Of course, the thing I'm most proud of is the fact that I managed to cut the page evenly, around my rose, which comes back in a different kind of form. Yes, it comes back in this stained-glass style and I am in love with it! It really stands out amongst the black and gold, and adds colour to the pages. I especially love the fact that I use several colours for the rose, so it has a little more dimension than the flat roses I used to doodle. Anyway, that's enough from me, I'll let you watch the video, but once you're done, please do let me know what you think of it. Do you like it? do you hate it? Do you have any other ideas I could use for next year? Leave your tips, comments and feedback in the comments section below, and I'll see what I can do. Journal With Me | My Bullet Journal Journey | December

Hey guys, I am so sorry it's taken so long! I've just been so exhausted from work, I wasn't able to film or edit this video, in time for the 1st December. However, it's done now, and I am so happy to reveal to you my December spread! I'm really happy with it, even if it doesn't have a single Christmas Tree or bauble in sight. It's still very Christmas themed and with the new metallic pens I've got, it's looking so shimmery and beautiful. I can't wait to fill this month up with all the things I've got planned! Now, I was debating on using paper, stickers and washi tape, for this spread as well, but I just didn't have the right ones with me. I actually don't have any Christmas stickers or washi tape, and pairing up the ones that I did have, didn't match the theme I was going for. So, I decided to forgo the stickers and washi tape. So, this spread, we're going back to pure drawings. Don't worry, I will eventually buy Christmas washi tape and stickers, for next year, so you can see what a spread that uses both techniques looks like, but for now, we'll stick with just the doodles. Anyway, what do you guys think? Do you like the look of this spread and the new layout? Let me know in the comments below!
